Prescription Drug Plan

The "PDP" also became available in 2006. It is a "voluntary yet mandatory" benefit which charges penalties to people who don't enroll during their initial eligibility period. The PDP completely revised previous prescription drug treatments from Medicare. (In fact, prescriptions may no longer be obtained through Medicare Supplements; the PDP must be purchased as a stand-alone separate benefit with a Supplement, or obtained within the Medicare Advantage plan.)

All drugs in the PDP are rated in "tiers," which determines their co-payment, and formularies can differ between carriers. Talk with Jay Cox about your alternatives in obtaining PDP coverage in the most advantageous manner for you.
